Yacht Delivery Services and Fees

We offer yacht delivery services anywhere from Maine to Corpus Christi, Texas, the Bahamas, and the near Caribbean. We act as a team and we limit our deliveries to sailing and motor vessels of less than 51 gross tons. The following is a summary of the fees and expenses you can expect and some additonal requirements. All of the terms and conditions for yacht deliveries are set forth in our YACHT DELIVERY AND CAPTAIN AGREEMENT, a copy of which we will provide to you on request.

  • We will provide you with an estimate of the yacht delivery fees and expenses based on the start and destination ports, boat characteristics (speed, fuel consumption, offshore range, and suitability, etc.)
  • We provide several options for you to track our progress during the yacht delivery.
  • We will provide you with a delivery log and report detailing delivery expenses and listing any mechanical or systems issues encountered during the yacht delivery.
  • Daily Charges. $450 per day for captain and mate for inshore deliveries; $600 per day for captain and mate for offshore, overnight deliveries. $225 for lay days because of weather, mechanical, or other issues that prevent travel. One-half of the estimated fees must be paid up front, with the remainder being paid immediately upon completion of the delivery.
  • Expenses. Customer is responsible for all delivery expenses and must provide in advance a prepaid credit or debit card with adequate funds for 120% of projected fuel, dockage, maintenance (for longer trips), and the estimated per diem. All funds for expenses not used in furtherance of the delivery will be returned to owner.
  • Per diem. A $75 per diem covers meals for both captain and mate.
  • Travel. We will travel to the pick-up point and from the drop-off point in the most economical way reasonably available. We will drive up to 8 hours to or from a pick-up or destination port (We are based in New Bern, NC, so we can drive to most places from New York to northern Florida). We travel by plane or train to or from any destination that is more than an 8 hour drive. All travel expenses must be paid in advance.
  • Seaworthy Vessel. Vessels to be delivered must be in a seaworthy condition. We will require a recent survey (completed within the last six (6) months). And we will spend the first day inspecting the vessel from stem to stern. All vessels must have all required Coast Guard safety equipment and adequate navigation equipment for the size of the vessel. Any vessel that the owner wishes us to take offshore must be equipped with an appropriate life-raft with an in-date inspection and a registered EPIRB.

Yacht Delivery Assistance/Crewed Deliveries

Many owners want to move their yachts themselves, but may need the assistance of a qualified person to share in the navigation and driving. Having a qualified person on board to share in the responsiblities can make longer voyages less stressful and allow the owner more time to simply enjoy the journey.

Or, perhaps you want to avoid the work of planning, navigating and, operating altogether and just enjoy the ride.

Yacht delivery assistance is $300 per day for a captain and $450 per day for a captain and a mate. All of the terms and conditions for yacht delivery assistance are set forth in our YACHT DELIVERY ASSISTANCE AND CAPTAIN AGREEMENT, a copy of which we will provide to you on request.

Yacht Operation and Systems Training

Have you moved up to your first yacht or up to a bigger yacht and your insurance company says you need training to bind coverage? Or, are you wise enough to understand that maybe, just maybe, an experienced hand to help you learn to maneuver and dock your new vessel might not be a bad idea? We have the experience and the qualifications to help you out. We have owned many models of sailing and power vessels and have operated vessels approaching 80 feet. Capt. Rod has experience with diesel repairs, eletronics installation and troubleshooting, 12 volt and 120 electrical sysytem troubleshooting and repair, marine sanitation and plumbing installation and repair, watermakers, and, well, just about all aspects of the systems of modern and not-so-modern yachts.

Yacht Operation and Systems Training is $300 per day for a captain and $450 per day for a captain and a mate. All of the terms and conditions for yacht operation and systems training are set forth in our YACHT OPERATIONS AND SYSTEMS TRAINING AND CAPTAINS AGREEMENT, a copy of which we will provide to you on request.
